Born in 1978 at UWI and raised in August Town, Foodie grew up with music around him. His yard was known for where parties used to be kept on a regular basis. Foodie’s father used to work with Wee Pow (Owner of Stone Love) back in the 70’s but had to give it up due to transportation issues. So the saying goes, like father like son, sound system fever was running through his veins from early. The idea of Mystique DJ’s was conceived in 1980 by DJ Arthur with the tutelage and guidance of three DJ music veterans at that time; DJ Wayne, DJ Audley, DJ Fernando and Pluto Shervington. Pluto gifted DJ Arthur the founding member of Mystique the first amplifier that would be used to launch the group. Winston “Merry tone” Blake was the main inspiration who encouraged and taught a young beginner DJ Arthur about music. Over time the skills to choose oldies were developed to the degree of pleasing even the most mature music fans of the day. In 1982 DJ Arthur partnered with DJ Richard and DJ Steven to form Mystique DJ’s. They were in demand and played at numerous night clubs and parties over the years including Mack’s Night Club, Sidewalkers, Club Manhattan, Eclipse, Banana Boat, etc. New and fresh talent in DJ Damyon, DJ Steve, and Paul came aboard in 1990 to add new life to Mystique DJ’s. Paul would become Mystique’s manager/promoter, keeping the group busy playing at Reef Pub, Coco Loco, Studio, The Falls, Fighter Squadron, Choco’s and many other clubs and parties in Miami. In 1993 DJ Steve returned to Jamaica and was hired by Peppers as resident DJ for a few years with Damyon joining him there for a short time. DJ Arthur retired from playing the club scene but had enjoyed occasional opportunities to play smaller venues at private house parties and weddings. Out of a desire to re-create the early days and success of the 1990’s with Mystique DJ’s, in 2017 DJ Damyon rejoined DJ Arthur and DJ Steve to form a new partnership to establish Symmetry Vibez. This time around the platform centered primarily on internet radio and playing at parties and events. Symmetry Vibez: Damyon Lyn (aka Lova Bwoy) Steve Lyn (aka Steven Sean) Arthur Earle (aka DJ Mystique) Symmetry Vibez hosts "The Mix Up" with "Lova Boy" every Thursday starting at 9pm to Midnight EST.
