DJ Skru

Djskru-Courtney {fb)- is a Florida based mobile DJ.

In the early 80’s inspired  by the dancehall sound system culture, I began collecting records and learning to mix music. In occasionally providing music for family and friends at various functions which gained regularity I became a DJ.  When playing music my focus was so intense while concentrating on the mix  people would comment  why is your face so screw ? this stigma led to me being known as “DJ Skrufase” or “DJ Skru”.

Throughout the 90’s, my forte was playing at clubs, weddings and private parties anywhere from New York to Florida. I also selected for a sound named Excalibur from 1991 thru 1998  participating in sound clashes ,stage shows and numerous fund raising events. I also served as an engineer for a studio in Orlando for a short while.

From 2000’s to current day, I’ve maintained a mobile DJ/ Karaoke business in Florida, catering to individuals and also a private group called Friends For Life or “FFL” – an assortment of mature fun loving people from the Caribbean who take exclusive vacations hosting private parties aboard cruise ships all over the world. Most recently I became a member of the JusMuzic.com family and plan to continue playing music for all who love to listen.
